Fibre Optics Major Projects Readiness

Core is currently involved in the Fibre Optics Major Project Readiness project for TransLink/British Columbia Rapid Transit. The $10M project will install the fibre optic connection required for the implementation of four major projects in TransLink: Broadway Subway Project, Surrey Langley Skytrain, Operations and Maintenance Centre 4, and Operations Control Centre, to support communications between the various technology systems and the central head-end equipment at Operations and Maintenance Centre 1.

This project includes detailed coordination between the contractor, consultants and BCRTC due to the technical complexity of implementing new fibre optic cables on an active transit system. In addition, coordination with the four other major projects has been critical to ensure timelines and expectations are met.
